The guacamole topping gave it a wonderful kick. It was so good I saved a burger for dinner.

Recipe makes 4 burgers. 150-20 minutes to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 red onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 3 slices jalapeño pepper from jar chopped
  • 1-14 oz. can or 1 3/4 cup black beans rinsed and drained
  • 1 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 tbsp. lime juice
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1-2 tbsp. olive oil

1. Place onion, garlic gloves, and jalapeño slices into food processor bowl and pulse a few times. Add all other ingredients and pulse until they are well blended. Note: some of the beans will be whole. The mixture should be pasty almost resembling ground meat.

2. Shape mixture into 4 patties.

3. Coat large skillet with olive oil and place over medium heat. Cook on one side until browned 5-10 minutes. Add a little oil and turn on other side to cook 5-10 minutes.
