A spicy choice with flavors that are amazing!
The guacamole topping gave it a wonderful kick. It was so good I saved a burger for dinner.
Recipe makes 4 burgers. 150-20 minutes to make.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 red onion chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 3 slices jalapeño pepper from jar chopped
- 1-14 oz. can or 1 3/4 cup black beans rinsed and drained
- 1 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 tbsp. lime juice
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tbsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1-2 tbsp. olive oil
1. Place onion, garlic gloves, and jalapeño slices into food processor bowl and pulse a few times. Add all other ingredients and pulse until they are well blended. Note: some of the beans will be whole. The mixture should be pasty almost resembling ground meat.
2. Shape mixture into 4 patties.
3. Coat large skillet with olive oil and place over medium heat. Cook on one side until browned 5-10 minutes. Add a little oil and turn on other side to cook 5-10 minutes.
Guacamole
2 avocados
1 small tomato chopped
1/4 cup red onions
1/4 cup cilantro chopped
1 garlic clove minced
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp fresh lime juice
1 dash sea salt
1 dash pepper
Note: you can alter seasons to taste
1. Mash avocado in bowl
2. Add all ingredients and mash together well with a fork.
I used a whole wheat bun.
